Merrill Lynch Bank (Suisse) appoints head of active advisory group

Geneva, 6 May 2008 - Merrill Lynch Bank (Suisse) (MLB(S)) today announced the appointment of Beatrix Werlen as Head of its Active Advisory Group. The group is dedicated to servicing high net worth clients who take an active approach to manag-ing their portfolios. Ms. Werlen will report directly to Michelle D'Ancona, MLB(S) Head of Europe and Swiss Market Leader. Ms. Werlen has extensive experience in the financial services industry, with a strong focus on private banking. Prior to joining Merrill Lynch, she worked at the Royal Bank of Canada (RBC) for over twenty years, providing high net worth clients with tai-lor-made solutions for a broad range of asset classes including structured products and funds. Most recently she was Head of RBC's advisory desk. Previous roles included In-vestment Manager and Deputy Strategist.
