Geneva, 18 October 2007 Merrill Lynch’s Global Wealth Management (GWM) group today announced the appointment of Jorge Fertis as a wealth solution provider within the Family Wealth Solutions Group at Merrill Lynch Bank (Suisse) S.A. He will be based in Geneva and will report to Patrick Ramsey, head of MLB(S) Family Wealth Solutions Group.
Mr. Fertis, who joins from ABN Amro N.V., has more than 14 years of international experience gained in Geneva, Hong Kong, Athens and Montevideo. He will be focusing on the Latin American region, working with Merrill Lynch’s financial advisors to address the needs of ultra high net worth families, entrepreneurs and family offices, developing effective solutions to meet their specific requirements.
Mr. Fertis has extensive experience gained most recently as a senior investment advisor, developing tailor-made solutions and complex portfolios for high and ultra high net worth individuals. Prior to that, he headed the Asia-Pacific Regional Capital Allocation division of the Financial Institutions Group. During his years in Uruguay, where he acted as treasurer and head of the dealing room, he developed trading capabilities for both local and international markets. He holds a degree in Economics and is fluent in English, Spanish, Portuguese and Greek.
